Informations on the tourist tax
The tourist tax is collected by the accommodation hosts which are located in a tourist station, like the one of Batz-sur-Mer, from their customers.
Through this tax, visitors contribute for the development of the tourist resort in terms of entertainment, maintain of the living environment, especially for cleanliness and safety.
The tourist tax must appear on the rental contract, appear separately on the bill at the end of the stay and be displayed on the place of accommodation.
All owners of self-catering accommodation must obtain their unique registration number, which is mandatory in order to publish their rental offers on online booking platforms, such as Airbnb, Abritel, etc.
The additional departmental tourist tax
The department of Loire-Atlantique has adopted a new tourism and leisure scheme throughout the territory. He activated the implementation of an additional tourist tax on January 1, 2024, by a deliberation on June 23, 2023. Governed by the provisions of Article L 3333-1 of the General Code for Local Authorities, it corresponds to 10% of the actual or flat-rate tourist tax collected by municipalities or EPCIs. The municipality of Batz-sur-Mer collects this tax and returns it to the Department.
This tax is added to that of the municipal rates of tourist tax, for the benefit of the Loire Atlantique Department. See tourist tax rates grid and additional.
