From Thursday 25 to Saturday 27 August 2022

The municipality is organising the second edition of its Environment Days, in partnership with the associations DECOS, Repair Café presqu'île and the Hunters' Association, as well as the Waste Department of Cap Atlantique, and with the participation of the municipal services (children-youth, Tourist Office, green spaces and media library).

"After a first edition with a full week of activities in September 2021, we wanted to repeat the experience by condensing the numerous activities over three days at the end of August in order to reach a larger number of people. Two themes are on the programme this year: "Nature and Biodiversity" and "Waste and Reuse". These activities for young and old alike, raise awareness with humour and lightness, while informing about local actions and ways to preserve our precious environment", explains Bruno SCHMIT, first deputy in charge of the environment.

All the activities are free of charge.

ZOOM ON: Screening of the documentary: "Les parcs naturels... en Minuscule: Brière et Guérande
6pm to 8pm - Salle des Fêtes
Documentary on the fauna, especially birds, of the salt marshes and Brière. The screening will be followed by a discussion. Film co-produced by the City of Guérande and the Brière Regional Nature Park.

"The Guérande peninsula, the second largest wetland in France, is a treasure trove of rare biodiversity and is overflown by one of the most important migratory corridors in Western Europe. This landscape was born from the alliance of two lands that everything opposes: a black country of peat, where reed beds, wet meadows, hedgerows and marshes intermingle, and another white one, with its salt lagoons shaped since the Middle Ages. Forming the Brière Regional Nature Park and the salt marshes, these two labyrinths, sculpted by rushing water, are home to white spoonbills, storks, European otters and bitterns, and some 280 species of birds can be found there, around 900 species of plants. A protected Eden, which reinvents itself throughout the four seasons... A poetic stroll in the heart of this jewel box of biodiversity, in the company of the insects from the animated film "Minuscule".
